What do you believe?
At Freedom and Joy Church, our faith is anchored in the timeless truth of the Apostles' Creed—a declaration of belief that has united followers of Christ for generations.
For a deeper look into the full statement of beliefs held by our founding elders, you can download it here.
We are committed to living out these beliefs—not just in words, but in the way we worship, serve, and grow together in Christ.
Which denomination are you affiliated with?
At Freedom and Joy Church, we stand as brothers and sisters to all denominations that hold to the Apostles' Creed—united in the foundational truths of the Christian faith.
Yet, above all else, we are devoted to Christ alone. Our allegiance is not to a denomination, but to Jesus Himself, seeking to follow Him fully in faith, love, and truth.
What is your leadership structure and who holds them accountable?
At Freedom and Joy Church, we follow an elder-led model—meaning that authority rests with the founding elders, rather than the congregation. Our elders prayerfully seek wisdom, discernment, and biblical guidance in all decisions, ensuring that our church remains faithful, strong, and mission-driven.
That said, we deeply value honesty, transparency, and collaboration. While decisions are ultimately made by the elders, they are not made in isolation—we consult, listen, and engage with the congregation, ensuring that leadership remains connected, accountable, and responsive to the people we serve.
Our elders are accountable to the congregation in integrity—committed to being open, candid, and clear about the decisions being made. We firmly believe that strong leadership is not about control, but about stewardship, responsibility, and service.
This structure allows us to lead with wisdom, care, and biblical authority, while ensuring that every voice is heard and valued within the church family.
Our leadership team consists of five founding elders (Meet Our Team). To ensure continued growth, guidance, and integrity, we have put several layers of accountability in place:
- Each elder is mentored by an external consultant, providing coaching, insight, and spiritual direction.
- Walking with Jesus is a journey best traveled together. Each elder maintains deep and meaningful relationships with mature disciples outside of Freedom and Joy Church, learning, growing, and being sharpened in their faith.
- Our founding elders enjoy positive and healthy connections with ministers across various denominations, keeping our church grounded in wisdom and shared faith.
Leadership thrives on honesty, humility and wisdom—and at Freedom and Joy Church, we are committed to these values at every level.
What financial reporting do you have in place?
At Freedom and Joy Church, financial integrity is a top priority.
- Our founding elders review the church’s financial status weekly, ensuring responsible stewardship.
- Every quarter, we provide financial reports to the congregation, keeping everything transparent and accountable.
- We are currently registering with the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission (ACNC), which means we will submit annual reports that ensure clarity and accountability in our financial practices.
These reports will be publicly available on the ACNC website, so anyone can see how we manage and steward our resources to support the ministry and community we serve.
We want to reassure you that we firmly believe that giving is a private act of faith between each individual and God. To honour this, no founding elder — or any other member of our church — has insight into who gives or how much they give.
Every dollar given is accounted for and directed towards ministry purposes. At this time, none of the founding elders receive payment, but if that ever changes, it will be done with full transparency and shared openly with the members of Freedom and Joy Church.
